This is a cool little app, well widget really, that has gained some popularity recently.  This simply lets you place up to 4 icons in the place of one on your home screen.  You can see from the pictures above, it gives you the ability to add A LOT of programs to your homescreen(s).

In order to use this, all you do is download it from the market (or scan the QR code below with a barcode scanning app) and install it.

Once installed, long press in a blank area on your home screen.

Select Widgets from the menu that pops up.

Select Multicon from the list of options.

This will put a “default” multicon widget on your homescreen, which you can tap and hold to drag where you’d like.

At this point, tap any of the 4 default app icons in the widget and you’ll be presented with a list of all your apps and more, where you simply select which app you want to associate to that spot on the widget, and viola!

Do this for the other 3 icons in the widget and you now have your 4-in-1 desktop icon!

If you later need/want to change any of the applications associated with your widget(s), simply launch Multicon from the app drawer, where you’ll be presented with a full list of instructions.

On the top of the screen at this point is a button that says Manage Widgets.

Select that and you’ll be taken to any widgets you have and be able to edit any corresponding apps you applied to any widgets.

It’s simple, user-friendly, and gives you a TON more shortcuts on your homescreens!

Check it out!
