Droid 1 Back In Stock?

Posted: August 17, 2010 in Droid 1

After numerous sources showing the Droid 1 hitting it’s EOL in Verizon’s system, as well as people reporting that it was showing out of stock online in many parts of the country, as well as in all Verizon retail outlets, yet here it is back for some more action!

You can see from the picture above it’s standing proudly under its new younger, faster, sleeker brother the Droid 2.  Both are in stock and ready to ship.  This is a screen shot with no zip code or city information entered into the site yet.  I’m wondering if someone forgot about a large shipment of these suckers in the back of a warehouse somewhere?

We should also note that since the Nexus One is no more (unless you’re a developer and want to pay full price for it) then this is officially the only phone available right now that can give you the “vanilla” Android experience.  I wouldn’t put my money these magically being around for much longer, but if you’re still interested, then you can definitely still get one!

Off topic – I’m wondering why the Droid 2 isn’t selling as well as the Droid X?  Not enough time to market?  Did the big screen and fast horsepower of the X draw enough people in that this didn’t need to be a smash hit as well?  I’ll be curious to see the numbers next month considering the Droid X still has a ship date of 8/31, so it is the only Droid model that is now on backorder.
